"Dah-Do"

I think that Laekin is trying to show us that she is ready for her first doggie! But mom and dad are much smarter than that. This is Laekin with her great aunt's "Dah-Do". She loves animals and gets this sweet little tone in her voice when she says "Hi" to any dog, cat, bird, or horse.

Beach day

Aunt Joelle ("Jo") and I took Laekin to the beach on Thursday. The last couple of times Laekin has been at the beach she cries and hates the sand. Well mommy and daddy are not going to stop going to the beach.... so somebody has to get over her beach fear. Today was a much more successful day at the beach. No tears, just a little hesitation which is a big improvement! We had a great time.

Daddy-Daughter Time

Lately I have really enjoyed watching Jeremy and Laekin's interaction! Whenever he comes home she usually screams and runs to the door, knocks on the door, and waits for him to come in. She would get jealous if he would kiss me while he was holding her. She would try to push me away... but now we taught her that we can all hug at the same time. She is much more game for that! I love seeing their love for each other and their relationship together. Laekin loves to have horseback rides on Jer's back, she loves to stand on his back, loves his attention, and loves to be pursued or chased by daddy!

Last night she had a difficult time going to bed which is very untypical for her. Jeremy had gotten home shortly before she was ready to go to bed. She was so upset when we put her in bed and just kept crying- so we brought her down and she sat on the couch with us watching American Idol. She was standing on the couch leaning back on Jeremy- trying to get as close as possible. Around 9:30 we decided to try again.... and again no luck. Jeremy took her and laid with her on the bed, she was touching his face, patting him and lying so close to him. Within 15 minutes she was asleep and he scooped her up and put her in her crib. So sweet. I think that she was just needing some extra time and love from daddy.

I love this picture. The moments are few and far between when our busy little girlie will sit still and quietly on our laps.

Coming in October...

Yes it is true... Laekin is going to be a big sister! I am due in early October with our second little baby. We are all very excited and look forward to the new addition to our family.

Happiest Place on Earth?

Well from the pictures you can't exactly tell that Laekin enjoyed her 1st trip to Disneyland- but she did! My parents treated us to a 3-day pass to both parks and Laekin enjoyed it more and more each time. Yesterday we went for our 3rd time and Laekin's aunt and uncle ("Jo" and "Ree") joined us!

The best birthday ever

So my hubby and I decided to go on a little trip just the 2 of us for my birthday. This was the first time that we left Laekin behind... with nana and papa. Jeremy and I went to La Jolla and stayed at a wonderful hotel. It was so peaceful and quiet there. We loved being able to spend so much time together. One night we even had a 3 hour dinner- we just were so content sitting by the fire, talking and enjoying our food. I forgot what it is like to have my hubby all to myself and not have to share him for a little while. We had such a refreshing time together. And Laekin loved hanging out with nana and papa.

Hoy Hoy

"Hoy Hoy" is what I have been hearing for the past 2 weeks. This is Laekin's word for "horse." I took her to my old job (the Shea Center) to go horseback riding with her buddy Luke. At first she was screaming crying when I put her on the horse. I am pretty sure that it was mostly the helmet that made her mad. She got over it quickly and enjoyed riding Winnie. Ever since then she talks about "hoy" and "hat" every day. When I sit down by my computer she says "hoy hoy".... she knows there are pictures of her and the horse. We will definitely have to visit again! Enjoy the pics!
